GESTATIONAL SURROGACY

A gestational surrogate carrier is not biologically related to the child or children they carry for an intended parent. The surrogate becomes pregnant through a medical process called In-vitro Fertilization (IVF). In this process, another woman's ovum or egg is retrieved and fertilized with the sperm of either an intended father or sperm donor. Many intended parents choose to have their embryos genetically tested before the embryo transfer into the gestational surrogate carrier. From a legal point of view, the gestational surrogacy process recognizes the intended parent or parents as the rightful and legal parent before or upon the child's birth. Therefore neither the gestational surrogate candidate nor her legal spouse is considered a legal parent or guardian to the child.
A gestational surrogate candidate must meet several industry requirements and fully commit and comply with the process's criminal, psychological, medical, legal, and procedural requirements.

At Origins Surrogacy, a successful first-time surrogate will receive an overall benefit and reimbursement package between $65,000.00 to $80,000.00, depending on the number of babies carried and other factors.
Proven surrogate candidates will receive an increased overall benefit package, depending on the number of successful surrogacy journeys they have completed in the past, the number of babies carried and other factors.
All benefits, reimbursements, and compensations are paid to the surrogate from an escrow or trust account on behalf of the intended parent, throughout the course of the surrogacy arrangement and in accordance with the terms listed in the legal agreement for each specific journey.

The minimal requirements for gestational surrogate candidates are:
• Have at least one biological child of their own
• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident between the ages of 21- 40
• Not be receiving welfare, food stamps, or state financial aid (WIC, Medi-Cal are acceptable)
• Have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• Not smoke cigarettes, marijuana, vape, hookah, or use illegal drugs
• Have no history of major complications during previous pregnancies or deliveries
• Have a clear criminal background, and no recent DUIs within the last 5 years
• Reside in a surrogacy friendly state (please contact us if unsure about your state)
• Reside in a healthy and stable environment
• Be financially and emotionally stable
• Be willing to complete and commit to the criminal, psychological, medical, and legal requirements of gestational surrogacy
